About the Artist – Bobbi Horst

Well, where to start? I have been creative pretty much all of my life. As a little girl my Mom was always doing something crafty and I would learn and do everything she did. We did ceramics, crochet and stitching to name a few. I have always had an “I-can-do-that” attitude and try to make anything and everything myself to save time and money.

Through high school I took sketching classes. I ended up going to cosmetology school and explored a different path of creativity through hair and nail design. I was a hairstylist for a few years but then found my love was in nail design. I worked in the nail industry for well over 10 years. During my nail career I did a lot of hand-painted nail art, began airbrushing nails and through that time was an airbrush educator for a short period. Later I began doing decorative painting on wood and pretty much anything I could find.

A few years ago I got into beading pretty much on a whim and starting making some jewelry. One day I was surfing the web and found instructions on making faux turquoise beads from polymer clay, well, the rest is just history! My husband thinks I need therapy because all I think about now is clay and beads! You will see in my things throughout my site that I love color and texture. I also really love working with wire and try to make most of my clasps, findings and embellishments.

Look around my site and check out my creations. If you have any questions or comments feel free to
send me an e-mail!

Enjoy!
